Tomorrow is my birthday. I make birthday resolutions in addition to new year's ones. This year, I want to blog more, no matter how much my day job tries to eat my life. It has been trying really hard lately. But this blog and my dolls in general are the only way I will prevent my job from eating my life in the long term.
My fat woman is taking forever because she is such a large doll. I have most of her torso done now, however. It has come out really well! But I decided to take a break and to a quick and simple doll. Here is a picture of the unfinished head! The eyes are done, at least.
Because I will be working such a long day tomorrow, I did most of my birthday celebrating this weekend. I intended to go dancing at the Church, but the people who run the place decided to show how little they respect and value their goth customers so I ended up not. Today, I spent being peaceful. I did some cleaning and baked a loaf of bread and got some healthy treats to have at work this week. Including a whole bunch of baby carrots to snack on! It is now to the point that I look at a lot of prepackaged foods, like hot pockets, and I am uninterested because they do not have any veggies in them.
I got a Kindle early for my birthday and I have to say, I really love it! Now I can read as I crochet, which is wonderful. I kind of could before, but often books are awkward when one does not have a hand free. Right now, I am reading Welcome to Bordertown. It is a collection of shared world short stories. I read some of the early ones years ago and I was so excited to hear about another. This one is as good as I remember the others to have been. I so wish Bordertown was a real place. I am no longer a teenager but I would still run away there.
And now, back to the doll mines. I do promise more posts in the future.
