At last, we have a preview of what I have been working so hard on this past month or so. Many thanks to my friend Trish for letting me use her photography setup! My little light box is far too small for these pieces.
First up is this nameless piece. She is designed to hang from the wall by a ribbon attached to the back of her head, although she is not doing so here. She is about three feet tall. The tip of her tail has wire wrapped around it for added interest. One neat feature she has is that I did the whites of her eyes in glow in the dark thread. I am not sure it will show up in the setting of the show, but I figure the odds of a black light in the area are pretty good.
And second, this is Lilah. She is about three feet tall as well. She is still nude here, but she will be clothed in the show. Her face is inspired by the incredibly cute Japanese bunka style dolls, although the rest of her is pretty dissimilar to them. She will have a lovely purple and gray babydoll cut dress when she is finished. She can hang from the wall for the show, but she is also designed to be an enjoyable doll.
And finally, one of my favourite older pieces will also be in the show. This is Elysium. She is a bit smaller at two feet tall. She was designed mostly to be a doll, but will be fitted with a ribbon to hang from during the show. She has ballerina style feet and very soft white hair.
I am so excited for this show and I'm very pleased with everything I will be submitting. It is on April 22 at the Meadowlark in Denver and has a $15 admission. It is going to be a wonderful event!
